Accessible enterprise healthcare platform supporting HCBS service verification, provider workflows, and regulatory compliance.
Client
The Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) platform is an enterprise healthcare system designed to support the documentation, tracking, and verification of service delivery within Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) programs. The system is used by healthcare providers, administrators, and compliance teams to ensure accurate service records and maintain regulatory compliance.
As a critical enterprise platform, the system required strong accessibility support, clear interaction workflows, and usability optimization to ensure it could be effectively used by all users, including those relying on assistive technologies.
My role focused on improving accessibility, usability, and interaction clarity while supporting enterprise workflow requirements.
• Improved accessibility of enterprise workflows to support assistive technology users
• Enhanced keyboard navigation and interaction consistency
• Improved usability of complex healthcare workflow interfaces
• Strengthened interaction clarity and system navigation structure
• Supported accessibility compliance readiness aligned with WCAG standards
Accessibility improvements were implemented to ensure the system could be used effectively across assistive technologies.
Key accessibility work included:
• Improved semantic structure for screen reader compatibility
• Enhanced keyboard accessibility across workflows and controls
• Improved focus management and navigation clarity
• Improved accessible interaction patterns for forms and system components
• Tested accessibility behavior using screen readers including JAWS and NVDA
These improvements helped ensure accessibility compliance readiness and improved usability for assistive technology users.
The EVV platform supports:
• Service verification and documentation workflows
• Healthcare provider interaction and service tracking
• Administrative oversight and compliance workflows
• Enterprise-level healthcare data interaction
The system is designed as a secure enterprise web application supporting multiple user roles and complex workflow interactions.
• Improved accessibility readiness of enterprise healthcare workflows
• Enhanced usability for keyboard and screen reader users
• Improved clarity and efficiency of healthcare provider workflows
• Strengthened accessibility and usability foundation of the platform
